August Newsletter

As we coast into autumn we are reflecting on the summer. We feel so incredibly blessed to have friends like you to help us during a very busy time. Summers are always more hectic with kids not being in school, but this summer we really felt the strain on our budget. However, with your help we have been able to provide over 397,832 meals this year! With that being said, there are going to be a few changes to the pantry starting in September. Beginning in September we will be providing a 5-day supply of food instead of a 7-day supply. We have continued to grow throughout the years, but we have come to a point where we just don’t have the funding to continue giving out as much as we used to. We will continue to keep you up to date with everything going on in the pantry. Make sure to follow our social media any updates in between Newsletters! This summer was a trying time, we are SO thankful for your support and prayers. We truly could not do the work without you.

Hygiene Products
Our neighbors are in need of toilet paper, feminine products, razors, soap, shampoo/conditioner, shaving cream, etc. These products are expensive and cannot be purchased with SNAP benefits (food stamps). Our neighbors need your help! Please contact us if you’re interested in volunteering or making a donation!

Clothing Room Help!
Currently on Wednesdays, 10AM-1PM
The clothing room is open and in need of additional volunteers to staff it. If you are interested on helping on another day than Wednesday, please let us know and we will be open on that day also!  Neighbors rely on our clothing room for gently used clothes and household items. Please contact us if you’re interested in volunteering or making a donation!

NSI Food Pantry on Mondays-Thursdays, 10AM-1PM

We are looking for help this summer for our regular pantry hours! We are open Monday-Thursday with volunteer shifts 9:00AM-11:30AM and 11:30AM-1:30PM each day. Volunteers perform a variety of duties, from stocking pantry shelves to checking neighbors in, walking with them through the pantry, loading cars, and clean-up at the end of the day. Volunteers over 18 will need to sign a waiver on their first shift, and volunteers ages 14-17 will need to have a parent or guardian sign for them.
